Avon Walk for Breast Cancer

Click here to help Patti reach her goal

Dear Friends and Family,

I have decided to participate in Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. This is such an important cause to me because this year, an estimated 40,000 women will die from the disease. Breast cancer takes another life every 14 minutes. Another woman is diagnosed with breast cancer every 3 minutes. An estimated three million women are living with breast cancer. One million of them don't yet know it.

As part of the event, I pledged to raise money. People can make donations on my behalf, so that I can reach my fundraising goal. With the donations raised, the Avon Foundation will provide support and resources for women affected by this terrible disease. This will help so many people in our own community and throughout the country. Any amount you can give is great; I just appreciate your support.

It is faster and easier than ever to support this great cause - you can make a donation online by simply clicking on the link at the bottom of this message. Whatever you can give will help! I truly appreciate your support and will keep you posted on my progress.

Thank you for supporting me always, but especially in this challenge; you really do make a difference.

Patti

Must See Movie

Lord Of War

Tagline: The first and most important rule of gun-running is: never get shot with your own merchandise.

Plot Outline: An arms dealer (Cage) confronts the morality of his work as he is being chased by an Interpol agent (Hawke).

I give this movie 8 out of 10...

Blow is to cocaine what Lord of War is to guns.

Bones in Motion gives runners cell phone help

Phoenix--If you're a runner or cyclist and sick of toting both your cell phone and some sort of heart monitor/performance meter, Bones in Motion might have the answer for you.

The company's new BiM Active software is designed to turn your cell phone into that single device that meets all your running needs.

By incorporating GPS, it can track your speed as you run or cycle, as well as keep track of all kinds of performance measurements, such as minutes per mile and calorie burn.

It's connected to a network, so it keeps track of your route and shows where you've been, and it lets you share that that data with others via the Web.

BiM Active also incorporates community-oriented features: you can rate the routes you run or cycle and signify what kind of conditions they offer. Thus, when someone accesses routes you've submitted online, they can tell whether there will be a lot of traffic, many hills or anything else you want to mention.

At the Demo conference here, Bones in Motion unveiled BiM Active and said Sprint had just agreed to offer the software as a location-based service on its network for just $9.99 a month.

‘Sopranos’ big may be sleeping with fishes in Boston Harbor

Now, it’s all supposed to be hush-hush and kept inside the family, but we hear that Boston will play a pivotal role in the upcoming season of “The Sopranos.”

Our well-placed rats report that one of the show’s “big characters” is going to get whacked in Boston — known on the hit HBO mob drama as “Scranton with clams.” The hit goes down during “The Sopranos” sixth season, which debuts March 12

Oh, but wait. There’s more.

“Sopranos” creator David Chase’s writers, who like to go that extra mile to set a scene, wrote into the script that as the gun action goes down, a Boston Celtics broadcast is blaring in the car.

Team spokesgal Farra D’Orazio confirmed yesterday that someone from the show contacted NBA Entertainment for permission to use one of last year’s radio broadcasts by Sean Grande and Cedric Maxwell.

“That’s standard operating procedure,” she told the Track. “But that’s all we know.”

However, someone did snitch that a member of the Green Team’s front office was sent a copy of the episode’s script. But all the characters’ names were blacked out. Dammit!

Guess Chase & Company is all too aware that omerta means nothing in Boston . . .
