Forest Grove educator to retire after 46 years

WORCESTER— When Frederick S. Rushton started teaching at Forest Grove Middle School in 1960, the brand-new school was considered “the school with a brain” because it had an intercom system and a machine that automatically rang the bells, turned up the heat, set the clocks and dimmed the hall lights.
